'Tis the Season...

For most of you that know me... you probably know that Christmas hasn't ever been my favorite holiday. So this year I decided to attack this feeling head on. I am giving up on being a "Grinch" or "Scrooge" and I am attempting to change my ways... starting with my "Sugar Plum Fairy" ringtone and callertune that I put on my phone before Thanksgiving, to get into the spirit.

Anyway, this weekend I decided to put up some old lights. They didn't really work out the way I planned so I went out to buy some new ones. I spent a lot of time looking in the store but finally I purchased two sets of lights and did the balcony and then decided to put them in the window too! They look so cute. Check them out!

Then this morning I took a trip to Garden Ridge to purchase my first real sized Christmas tree. Only, the one I really wanted was way too expensive ($300- seriously?)! So I found one that was perfect for my space right now! It was a prelit tree so then all I needed was a few ornaments. As soon as I got home and cleared a space I got started putting it all together. When I took out the first part and set it up... I got nervous.

It looked so bare. Then I realized I needed to "fluff" it. It took a while to do. But I finally got it all spread out! And I don't think it looked too shabby... for a last minute tree.

Here it is all plugged in. Then it was time to add some colored lights and ornaments. That took a long time too. No wonder I waited a full 29 years before doing this; it take quite a bit of time to do!
