WOW!! Where to begin. I don't know why so many people look down on turning 30. I have had some amazing birthday celebrations in my day... however this last one... the BIG 3-0 (aka the DIRRTY THIRTY) topped them all! I was blessed to have my mom come and celebrate with a group of amazing girls. Each and every one of them made my special day just that much more special! We really know how to make the best of things. Here is how it went...
Since I love surprises I decided to turn the tables a bit. I decided to surprise my friends with a day trip for my birthday. All the girls knew was to bring a little bit of cash, dress cute, and arrive at the meeting spot at 9:30. Sneaky, Sneaky.
I got lots of questions but managed to keep it a secret the whole time. While waiting on our "ride" for the day my mom and I gave the girls their goodie bags as a "hint" to our day. It was so fun to watch the girls open and get excited about what our day would entail. Of course the goodies bags didn't give all the details so I filled them in just as the ride pulled up.
*Oh, and just for the record... I had to rely on all my friends for pictures because I, who was very prepared (seriously) left my camera battery in my charger at the house. YES, REALLY... ON MY 30TH BIRTHDAY ... COME ON!?!! (so thanks friends for snapping photos and sharing them)

| Here we are getting ready to get in. |
| Here is our "carriage" for the day. |
| Spoiled Party girls! |
| Hummer Limo |
So the day was going to consist of leaving Austin to go to Fredricksburg, Texas on a Hill Country Wine tour. The first of the wineries we would be visiting would be a relatively new one called Pedernales Cellars. Here are some photos from the ride to the first winery. We were all pretty quiet and reserved, except for the SCENE IT 80s video game we played on the way. We were just enjoying our mimosas, the winding roads with gorgeous views, and the 80s trivia... but soon this will all change.

| My AMAZING MOM and I (thanks for the day Mom!!) |
| Mom always spoils me with gifts, regarless of the day. Here are some of my favorites from the day. (Every Queen needs their tiara) |
| This is the cutest birthday bear. He sings, moves his head, and the cupcake has a fan on it that lights up with LED lights to say Happy Birthday! So cute. |
| Just one of the carts full of snacks and drinks for the day. |
| Finally on the road! |
| Present time! |
| Just a collage of all the beautiful ladies! |
I am NOT a fan of wine, which makes my birthday party a funny choice. But I just thought the experience would be fun, and perhaps I would end up liking wine a little more. So needless to say... I had never been to a wine tasting. It was all foreign to me. Thank goodness some of my friends had a clue. We just followed H-Dub's lead... she is a professional.
The staff at the winery kept trying to get us to go on a tour... but we really didn't want to so we quickly finished our tastings, got our passports stamped and snuck out to take pictures and head back to the Hummer.
| Check out that amazing view... WOW! |
Now it was snack time and we started cracking in to our beverage stash in the limo. We had a wide variety of drinks from champagne, to beer, and sweet tea vodka. My mom also pulled out the Karaoke dvd's and we sang our hearts out!
| Snacks and getting refreshed. |
H-Dub decided to let us taste the wine she brought. It was very close to our favorite wine inside Pedernales Cellars. Thanks friend. It was good!
After a short 10 minute trip, we arrived at Becker Vineyards. This place was beautiful! By this time the wineries were getting pretty busy (my bday falls on Valentine's weekend... EVERY year), but that didn't slow us down. We got right in there and made us some room!
| J left her purse in the bathroom, and had to wait on someone to come out to go back in and get it... HA! |
| SPOTTED: SNOOKIE ALERT (hehe) |
I love birthdays!
After our visit to Becker we decided to forgo the last two wineries and do something a little more.... well, a little more ME!
We were heading to LUCKENBACH, Texas! I love ALL THINGS TEXAS and I can't believe I have yet to be to Luckenbach. What better time than on my birthday with some of my bestest friends?!! So we got back into the limo, cranked the Karaoke dvds back up, and took the short 20 minute trip to Luckenbach! |
Notice my mom...
Now for the surprise... I SEE PETTYCOATS! (The whole random idea of pettycoats is explainable... however not in this post. Just know that it is something that started years ago by my mom, and is just so much fun! You will NEVER know... until you are in one.) You should have seen everyones faces. I wasn't sure at first, but EVERYONE was ready to put one on! LET THE FUN BEGIN... |
Pettycoats bring out the BEST and FUN in EVERYONE!! Don't believe me, just check out our pics and vids! Ha! I am not sure Luckenbach was ready for us... Here... we... come!!!
| Aren't we a "sight"??!! |
| Cake balls... 'nuff said! |
| This cracked me and DirtyD#2 up so much!!! |
| So much fun, no one wants to leave. |
| Post Office! |
| I got to sit on a bike! Those bikers were confused by my group! |
| One last trip to the car... |
One last group picture!!! |
Our trip home consisted of a Grease sing-a-long karaoke! I am obsessed with that movie, as it has always been one of my FAVORITES!
As I said... this was the BEST birthday by far of my entire life. I had all the essentials... friends, food, drinks, and lots of fun! I hope this is an indication of what my 30s will be like! Thank you friends!
Darby that looks like such an amazing time!! I'm so glad you had the best birthday you've ever had!! It looks like so much fun, I LOVE THE PETTYCOATS!!! ADORABLE!!! Love you!!
