Spring Break 2010

This is my favorite time of year!  I look forward to spring break every year, not only for the week off, but also for the great weather, fun times, and the many happenings in central Texas.  Unfortunately my camera and battery were acting up so I can only post what I have.  Good times in Austin, Texas.

Austin Kite Festival  

This was my first time at this event.  It was amazing.  So many people, so many kites, and so much fun.  We parked a mile and a half away and walked all the way to Zilker Park.  This will definitely be a yearly tradition. 

And on the way home was a little stop at the scenic overlook off 360.  The most beautiful view of downtown from afar.  This is one of my favorite places to stop and gaze.

Austin Rodeo

Swine Races!!

I fell in love with this rodeo last year while seeing Clay Walker.  This year (so far) I have only been to the fairgrounds during the day.  Did a lot of show seeing, checking out the carnival, and shopping- of course.  I hope to go back this weekend for the cook off.  I am also aspiring to join the rodeo volunteers for next season!

And, on the way home, a drive through downtown.  6th street at 3 in the afternoon, during SXSW.  It was early in the week, which means during the movie part, but I couldn't resist this picture.  At a stop light, I looked back and saw this amazing painting on the wall.  It is sooooo AUSTIN!

St. Patrick's Day

Yeah, I totally would have participated in the celebrations happening around Austin!  However, I was so sick on Wednesday that I couldn't move.  I haven't been that sick since I was like 14.  I spent the majority of the day in bed, trying to keep water down.  It was so sad, because I love St. Patty's Day.  So since I couldn't attend this year, I am posting pics from last year.  I remember it being SO MUCH FUN!

Good times!  Wish I could have done it again.  Now I have 364 days to get ready to do it again!

And the rest of my spring break was spent relaxing and enjoying being off of ALL jobs.  It was a fantastic week minus the weather.  I hate to complain about a week off but it was cool, rainy, windy, extremely cold, and only sunny at times.  My spring break 2010 was a relaxing success.  How much longer till summer?  =)
